Experience An Upcoming Free Event In The Park
Outdoor Education For All
The site of today's Pease District Park was part of the 365-acre Woodlawn homestead owned by former Texas Governor E. M. Pease and his wife, Lucadia. Although Governor Pease supported the Union during the Civil War, research has found that at least 37 individuals were directly enslaved or leased as enslaved labor by the Pease family. This tour recognizes and shares some of the stories of a few of these people.

PPC is excited to partner with the Violet Crown Players’ Diverse Space Youth Dance Company for an outdoor installment of their movement-based performance Confluence!
This performance is a FREE-for-all all opportunity to support local art and youth dance initiatives. Since this is a moving performance, we will begin at the ring of Sycamore trees next to the Picnic Tables and make our way to the Tudor Cottage and Terrace, the Amphitheater, the Great Lawn, and trails on the Kingsbury hillside.
As spring arrives, you’re invited to gather under the arms of the Treehouse for an immersive soundbath experience with Sonali Krish of Sona Shala. This evening will be a space to bask, breathe, and simply be—a moment to soften into the pause before the new year begins. With crystal bowls, grounding breathwork, and gentle nervous system support, this experience is designed to soothe, restore, and recalibrate.
