2026 PRIDE PICNIC EVENT CHAIR
GERARDO GANDY
With a background in architecture, interior design, and brand strategy, Gerardo is the Practice Area Leader for Brand Design at Gensler Austin, leading experience strategy across sports, entertainment, hospitality, and mixed-use development. He is on the front lines of creating the vision for how urban, cultural, and architectural landscape is transforming in Austin. A member of the steering committee for Gensler’s Community Impact Program, Gerardo helps guide the firm’s vision for community impact by focusing efforts and resources on initiatives ranging from nonprofit collaborations, mentorship programs, and community events. Gerardo was named the 2018 Associate Member of the year by the AIA Austin and is the recipient of the 2020 Austin Under 40 Awards in the category of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering, and was recognized by BD+C's National 40 Under 40 in 2023. Gerardo also serves on the Board of Pease Park Conservancy.

🚘 GETTING TO PRIDE PICNIC 🚘
Parking at Pease Park is limited, so we highly recommend public transportation, walking, biking, and rideshare whenever possible.
If you do drive, FREE parking can be found at the Austin Recreation Center (1301 Shoal Creek Blvd) and the ACC Rio Grande Parking Garage. (824 W 12th St). These options connect to Pease Park via a short walk along the Shoal Creek Trail and offer nearly 500 parking spots.

💚 Thank you to our PREVIOUS EVENT CHAIRS 💚
Noel Landuyt is the Director for the Institute for Organizational Excellence and Assistant Professor of Instruction in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. He has long been involved in LGBT advocacy work and currently serves as National Board Chair for Vivent Health, which provides HIV services to underserved communities around the United States. He is a Pease Park neighbor and a longtime supporter of the park.
Gary Schumann is the founding Partner of the Savrick, Schumann, Johnson & McGarr law firm. He is the past chair of the Austin LGBT Bar Association and the past chair of the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. He is the current titleholder for Mr. Texas Leather First Runner-Up, and is the curator of Pease Park’s neighbor, BEPI Park.
