Welcome to Lamar Terrace

The trail from Gaston Green at 26th Street to the top of Lamar Terrace at 31st Street is one of the most gorgeous walks you can take in Pease Park. Lamar Terrace includes a myriad of features that can connect you with nature.

Mystic Raven & the Wildflower Meadow

In Lamar Terrace, near 29th and Lamar, you can find David Deming’s Mystic Raven. This sculpture evokes man, bird, and machine and we are thrilled to be able to host it in Pease Park in partnership with The Contemporary Austin. Learn more about this art piece here.

Next to Mystic Raven is a Wildflower Meadow. Limited mowing takes place in this area to give the native wildflowers room to grow. In the spring, this field is alive with a multitude of blooming colors. Learn more about the Wildflower Meadow here.

escape the city feel

As you travel north on the Shoal Creek Trail through Lamar Terrace, you find yourself shaded by trees, surrounded by rocks and canyons, and alongside the babbling creek.

Although you are steps away from Lamar and 31st Street in the middle of the city, you will feel like you are on a hike in the wilderness.
